Countertenor Carlos Mena specialised in the Baroque repertoire at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (SCB) in Basel with Robert Levitt, René Jacobs and Emma Kirkby. Under the baton of conductors such as René Jacobs, Gustav Leonhardt, Marc Minkowski, Fabio Biondi, Andrea Marcon and many others, he has performed in major concert halls in Europe, the USA and South America, Japan and Australia. His rich oeuvre is documented by more than 40 award-winning CD recordings. As a guest conductor, he is often invited to conduct various Iberian orchestras.
