Three remarkable young musicians from central Europe – Italian violinist Francesca Dego, German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott and Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi – create a seductive, enigmatic, almost esoteric sound in the constantly shifting interplay between their instruments. In this concert dedicated to Brahms, the connections between the instruments will be explored individually: first, the passionate violin/piano dialogue of Sonata No. 1 Op. 78, and then the baritone voice of the cello in Sonata No. 2 Op. 99, with its moments of exuberance, hints of vigorous energy, and pronounced gypsy-style finale.
