The Orchestra Sinfonica della RAI di Torino is, alongside the Santa Cecilia Orchestra, the most prestigious ensemble in Italy. Fabio Luisi, longtime director at the Zurich Opera, as well as in Copenhagen, Dallas and, soon in Tokyo, is a star of classical music. The evening’s program will open with Mozart‘s Ouverture from The Marriage of Figaro and will close with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8, which the composer himself fondly referred to as “my little Symphony in F”.
What a great pleasure to welcome back Jan Vogler, who will be remembered in Ascona for his interpretations of Bach and Brahms during the Settimane Musicali in 2015. Vogler will interpret Haydn’s Cello Concerto No. 1, rediscovered in Prague in 1961 and performed a year later in its modern premiere.
