Tenor Jakob Pilgram studied singing and choir conducting at the Basel Academy of Music and completed his studies at the Zurich University of the Arts. As a soloist, he has sung with conductors such as Thomas Hengelbrock, Philippe Herreweghe, Ton Koopman, Andrea Marcon, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Pablo Heras Casado, and many others. He has performed as a guest singer on the stages of theatres in Basel, Bern and Lucerne and since 2005 he has been a permanent member of the Origen Ensemble, a group with which he has performed in numerous world premieres. In 2005, he founded the professional vocal ensemble Larynx, of which he is musical director and principal conductor.
