Ivan Vukčević

IIvan Vukčević, an avid proponent of the viola repertoire, regularly performs at some of the world’s most renowned festivals, including the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, GOG Genova, MiTo, Schubertiade, LuganoMusica, and Delft Festival. Vukčević has also given concerts in Australia, North America, and Asia. He has made several recordings and premiered numerous new works.

Currently, Vukčević is the solo violist with the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana. He has previously served as principal violist with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and the Basel Symphony Orchestra, and more recently as a guest solo violist with the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala.
A founding member of the Quartetto Energie Nove, based in Lugano, Vukčević has contributed to the ensemble's numerous critically acclaimed recordings. Since 2017, he has directed the Mediterranean Notes Music Festival in Montenegro. He has been a Professor of Viola at the International Menuhin Music Academy in Switzerland since 2012, where he previously studied under Johannes Eskaer and Alberto Lysy.

Ivan Vukčević plays a 1753 C. F. Landolfi viola, and a modern instrument built by F. Bissolotti in 1991.
