This year's traditional family concert is not to be missed, featuring ten soloists from the G. Rossini Symphony Orchestra from Pesaro, Italy performing Camille Saint-Saëns’s famous Carnival of the Animals. Mostly famous as an educational aid, each movement of this highly original masterpiece depicts a different animal, represented by an appropriate instrument. The conductor will provide entertaining descriptions and explanations between the various elements. The show, which will also feature beautiful masks from the carnival in Fano, Italy, is organized by the Friends of the Ascona Musical Weeks in collaboration with the Locarno Parents’ Group. Entry is free!
