The renowned Budapest Festival Orchestra brings one of Hungary’s best-loved composers to the Ticino festival: their fellow-countryman György Ligeti, with a suite from his eccentric and grotesque masterpiece, Le Grand Macabre, paired with Beethoven's “Eroica” symphony, one of Viennese classicism's most revolutionary compositions in terms of its musical language. Interspersed with a wonderful work by Richiard Wagner, this will provide the perfect introduction to the warmth, power and brightness of this ensemble under Iván Fischer, one of their most inspirational conductors.
