2010 winner of the prestigious International Chopin Piano Competition, Yulianna Avdeeva is known for being one of the greatest interpreters of Fryderyk Chopin’s work. It is thus with great pleasure that we invite you to enjoy her in a performance of two pages of the Polish master, Barcarolle op. 60 for piano and – alongside Alisa Weilerstein – Sonata for cello and piano op. 65, composed in 1846. In between, Alisa Weilerstein, an ardent fan of contemporary music, will present one of her favorites, Omaramor, a solo cello fantasy inspired by Carlos Gardel’s tango Mi Buenos Aires Querido, written by Argentinian composer Osvaldo Golijov.
